2020 has been quite a whirlwind!  Although the past seven months have presented many challenges and adjustments for everyone, there have also been some silver linings.  For most of us, the extra time with family has been an opportunity we wouldn’t have received under normal circumstances.  The time to connect and be together is priceless!

The current situation has also brought our Underwood School Family closer as well!  The 2020-2021 school year is unlike any we’ve ever had and the needs for our school remain (and some might say have even increased!)  Regardless of whether students are enrolled in person learning or Virtual Academy, we want to ensure our programming remains strong and our students/staff are supported.

All the funds from the Silent Auction go directly back to support our school. Popular items in the past have included :

Underwood Kick Off Event

Our 2020 Kick Off Event was a success! It was great to see so many Underwood parents together supporting the Foundation. Special thanks to Nickelpoint Brewery for hosting the event.

During the event, a raffle took place with the winner receiving entry to the VIP Event at our upcoming ‘Uniquely Underwood Gala’ on April 24th.  Congratulations to Valeria Amadei!

Looking ahead to 2020!

It’s hard to believe 2019 is coming to an end!  As the year comes to a close, please consider donating to the Foundation during your end of the year giving efforts by clicking on the ‘Donate’ section on the left.  Your donations will make it possible for us to reach our goal of raising $125,000 by July 1st, 2020 to support our mission of ensuring the instructional programming levels remain in place in order to maintain the integrity of our school and its offerings, recruiting and retaining quality teachers and contributing to the endowment fund.  When you GIVE, ALL our children GET!

  • 2020 Foundation Kick Off Event:  Tuesday, January 14th from 7-9pm at Nickelpoint Brewery  (506 Pershing Road, Raleigh, NC 27608).  Come join us to learn more about the Foundation and how we support Underwood.  Meet our Board members and other Underwood families, all while enjoying drinks from Nickelpoint Brewery and a food truck .  Plus, 10% of proceeds will be given directly to the Foundation!  Discounted Gala tickets will be available for purchase as well.

The Underwood Foundation Spring Gala is Friday, March 1st. Have you gotten your tickets yet? No? Don’t worry – there is still time!

You won’t want to miss this amazing night with the Underwood community full of fabulous food and music in addition to a silent auction including everything from works of art by local artists to spa gift certificates and vacation getaways. The best part of the night is ALL proceeds go to keeping Underwood the wonderful school we all love by funding teaching positions and our robust elective programming.

The 6th annual Underwood Foundation Gala will be Friday March 1, 2019 at Whitaker & Atlantic.

Donor tickets will be issued based on your 2018/2019 contributions.  Check out the Foundation Website for information on Donor Levels.  Everyone can attend regardless of donor levels.  Individual ticket sales will begin later this month.
