Underwood Kick Off Event

Our 2020 Kick Off Event was a success! It was great to see so many Underwood parents together supporting the Foundation. Special thanks to Nickelpoint Brewery for hosting the event.

During the event, a raffle took place with the winner receiving entry to the VIP Event at our upcoming ‘Uniquely Underwood Gala’ on April 24th.  Congratulations to Valeria Amadei!

Looking ahead to 2020!

It’s hard to believe 2019 is coming to an end!  As the year comes to a close, please consider donating to the Foundation during your end of the year giving efforts by clicking on the ‘Donate’ section on the left.  Your donations will make it possible for us to reach our goal of raising $125,000 by July 1st, 2020 to support our mission of ensuring the instructional programming levels remain in place in order to maintain the integrity of our school and its offerings, recruiting and retaining quality teachers and contributing to the endowment fund.  When you GIVE, ALL our children GET!

The Underwood GT Magnet Elementary School Foundation Tax ID/EIN# is 46-­5239516. The Foundation is a 501c3 tax-exempt public charity.  Contributions to the Foundation may be deductible under section 170 of the Internal Revenue Code.

  • 2020 Foundation Kick Off Event:  Tuesday, January 14th from 7-9pm at Nickelpoint Brewery  (506 Pershing Road, Raleigh, NC 27608).  Come join us to learn more about the Foundation and how we support Underwood.  Meet our Board members and other Underwood families, all while enjoying drinks from Nickelpoint Brewery and a food truck .  Plus, 10% of proceeds will be given directly to the Foundation!  Discounted Gala tickets will be available for purchase as well.
  • Underwood Spring Gala:  Friday, April 24th at Marbles Children’s Museum.  More information on Corporate Sponsorship opportunities, tickets sales and event highlights coming soon!

The Underwood Foundation Spring Gala is Friday, March 1st. Have you gotten your tickets yet? No? Don’t worry – there is still time!

Donor tickets will be issued based on your 2018/2019 contributions.  Check out the Foundation Website for information on Donor Levels.  Everyone can attend regardless of donor levels.  Individual ticket sales will begin later this month.

Skip Cooking Dinner!

Please join us November 13 from 4 – 8pm at Lynnwood Brewing Concern for our pre-kickoff event to learn more about the Foundation and how we support Underwood. Meet our board members and other Underwood families all while enjoying scratch made eats, tasty beverages and best of all no dishes to wash! Plus for each beer purchased Lynnwood will donate $1 to the Foundation.

Our official campaign will begin on Giving Tuesday – November 27, but this year we have an early bird special!  All donations made by November 27th will be entered to win dinner for four at the fabulous Capital Club 16!  Any donation of any amount, recurring or one-time, enters you for a chance to win!

Can’t make the event – not a problem – you can make a donation anytime via our website or by picking up a donor card at the school’s front desk.

We want you to know….

We are ready for another great year at Underwood!

Part of what makes our school so amazing are the teachers and programming. The Underwood Foundation was formed to protect those things. Our mission is to help give our school the financial flexibility to keep all our teachers and programming in place, despite changes in budgets.

You will be hearing a lot from us over the coming weeks but ahead of that there are some important dates we want you all to know…..

September 6th – Between 6 and 6:30 during Open House, you will have an opportunity to learn all about the Foundation and our mission during a special session.  Even if you know who we are come stop by and support as we begin the year.

October 31st – While our giving campaign won’t officially kick off until Giving Tuesday, November 28th , this year we are promoting an early bird special offer! We have a special drawing to win dinner for four at the fabulous Capital Club 16! Simply donate by October 31 st to be entered into the drawing. Any donation of any amount, recurring or one-time, enters you for a chance to win!

November 13th – Pre-Giving Tuesday kick off this year will be held at Lynwood Brewing Concern at 1053 E Whitaker Mill Rd.  From 4 pm to 8 pm (+)  for each beer purchased Lynwood will donate $1 to the Foundation.  Come have a beer or two with family and friends – even bring the kids there will be a food truck for dinner!
